Overview:
Seeking a highly experienced Oracle Database Operations Lead to manage enterprise-level Oracle environments for Abbott Labs within an Application Management Services (AMS) delivery model. The role focuses on Oracle 19c, RAC, SAP-related databases, performance tuning, patching, upgrades, OEM monitoring, and leading DBA teams while ensuring SLA-driven operational excellence.


Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily database operations across Linux and Windows platforms.
  • Lead AMS delivery operations and ensure SLAs/KPIs are consistently met.
  • Perform patching, upgrades, and new Oracle 19c builds (Standalone + RAC).
  • Configure and maintain Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) monitoring/alerting.
  • Administer and optimize SAP Oracle databases.
  • Implement strong database security, backup, and recovery strategies.
  • Collaborate with application teams on performance tuning and issue resolution.
  • Manage client escalations and deliver timely resolutions.
  • Lead and mentor mid-sized to large DBA teams.
  • Create and maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and standards.
Requirement Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of Oracle DBA experience with deep Oracle 19c & RAC expertise.
  • Strong AMS delivery operations experience.
  • Hands-on patching, upgrades, and database build experience.
  • Proficient in OEM monitoring tools.
  • Experience with SAP-related Oracle databases.
  • Strong Linux & Windows platform knowledge for DB administration.
  • Understanding of backup/recovery and HA (RAC, Data Guard).
  • Shell scripting (good to have).
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Proven experience leading DBA teams.
  • Solid knowledge of ITIL, incident & change management processes.
Candidate Details:
Ideal candidate is a senior Oracle DBA leader with strong RAC/19c expertise, AMS delivery experience, SAP Oracle DB knowledge, and the ability to manage escalations, lead teams, and ensure high availability and performance across enterprise environments.
